Smokin Hole Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Sorry all but I've completely lost touch with this one. I pledged $40 for DCS: WW2 on Kickstarter. According to Kickstarter, no funds go to a pledge unless the entity seeking funding meets is pledge goal. Well DCS: WW2 did. But by that point I had completely lost touch with DCS. So my question is, have I actually given money to ED? Or did they just walk away from the KS campaign once they decided to change direction without accessing the pledges?
fastfreddie Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 At $40 pledge you will get to choose 2 planes of your choice and you still get the Normandy map. The original group that did the kickstarter failed so ED stepped in to finish the project with a restructure of rewards.
Smokin Hole Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 Thanks cminer! My question was more, "how do I know if I gave money to honor the pledge?" Because honestly, it was so long ago I'd forget ten how Kickstarter works. I can log on and it does show my pledge. But nowhere does it show that I provided funds or how those funds may have been transferred.

As far as I understood the (few official) explanations: RRG recieved the funds that were collected by the KS campaign and used it to work on the project. ED continued the work on the assets when they took over the project from RRG. So, yes, the KS funds went into the product and help a bit to develop it. edit: or is your question about how you know that you actually gave away money to KS? With your pledge you agreed to that KS may "take money from your credit card" (omg, my english skills are failing me here completely atm ... there is a word for that, but I am unable to recall it ... lol) if the campaign was successful. I.e. check your credit card statement. Edited November 13, 2014 by Flagrum

Bounder Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 (edited) Kickstarter will say something like you backed this project if you did and if you are really unsure if your money was transferred, you're probably best checking with your bank to be honest. If you used the same email address for registering with kickstarter as you did here for your main ED account (e-shop), then your rewards for backing KS should automatically transfer over here. To check this: 1. Go to the ED main page. To get there you can click on the DCS banner at the top of the forum or follow this link http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/ 2. On left log in (with your e-shop login (not necessarily the same as your forum account details)) 3. On left click on Personal Section -> Backers Page 4. See rewards If you have trouble with access see the stickied thread in this subforum titled "No access to backers section on DCS Page? Read this!" http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=124949 Edited November 13, 2014 by Bounder My PC specs: Win10 64 Pro, CPU i7-3820 4.4GHz, 16GB RAM, GPU Nvidia 1070 (8gb vram). Smokin Hole Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 All, Thanks for the assist. Apparently I paid and just didn't remember how the whole Kickstarter thing worked. I put in a "ticket" with ED last night and got a near instant reply with a link allowing me to select two planes. That was a very pleasant surprise! Eric
fastfreddie Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Just decide wisely(Dora) now! If you don't have the Mustang/Dora you can probably pick them up pretty cheap at the next sale and select other (BF109 releases soon) titles.
