Hi,

So im coming back to my favourite plane (P-51 its a true beauty) after a few months in IL2 Stalingrad alpha\beta and now final release.

Im prettey sure though that dcs ww2 will be the nr 1 WW2 sim for me.

But one question, what is the tail fin underneath the P51 and also the FW190. I cant find this in real life pictures?

A very puzzling question, because I haven't noticed anything extraordinary on both of these planes. Could You post a screen of how they look on your PC?

I misunderstood Your question, thinking You've noticed some graphical bug/glitch in the 3D model of both airplanes. But if it's just a question about plane geometry, You have to be more specific what "tail fin underneath" You're referring to, because I can't find anything radically different on DCS models compared to real planes.

For a moment I was thinking the same, but the "underneath" part creates some confusion.

yes *blade antenna* probably, never heard this before, you can see it on the P51 wallpaper in the main menu as well.

But i have never seen this on any pictures. I just wanted to know what this is, and what its for?

And if its a war time thing mabye?

Its right infront of the coolant intake, *underneath* the plane ;)

Aaaaaah, this one. It's the antenna for AN/ARC-3 radio set. And while we're at it, if you're wondering what double antennas do on the back of the fuselage (instead of usual single one), these are for AN/ARA-8 homing adapter.

Neither of these devices is modelled in DCS Mustang, but for some reason, ED decided to put their antennas on the 3D model.

If You've never seen them, that means you only know about Mustangs flying on this side of the globe, because if You saw pictures of P-51Ds serving on the Pacific, You would see these antennas on almost every plane :D.
