Hello, gentlemen! I am a beginner player of one of the DCS modules (I own a legit version of Ka-50 Black Shark 2) and I've encountered a serious problem recently:

I haven't started Ka-50 game a few weeks before until yesterday, when I was prompted to make an update for DCS World to the latest version (according to the DCS updater 64bit the version is 1.2.11.34087.547), which I did, but strangely enough, in the game it is stated something different (1.2.10.32582):

Anyway, when I've entered into the game (Insant action), I've noticed a big problem. Suddenly I wasn't able to take control of the helicopter, only the mouse, a few "F" and "Escape" keys were responding to my commands, and the joystick was also completely "dead". After that, I've exited the mission and I've tried to do the same with the SU25T and TF51D aricrafts and they were working perfectly fine, which is damn strange.

In the attached screenshots it can be seen that even the starting view position of the aircraft is different after the game has finished loading the mission:

I've restarted the PC a few times, I've unplugged and plugged back in the keyboard and joystick but with no success. It may be just a coincidence or not, but this problem appeared after making the update of DCS World.

So, any help that can help me solve this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Can you see Ka-50 module in your module manager? If it is not there then you have to install it first.

Win10, Intel 3rd Gen. Core i7 3.8Ghz, 20GB ram, Nvidia Geforce 1060 6GB Opentrack (Download it from HERE), PS3 Eye, Saitek x52-pro Joystick,

DIY Rudder Pedals,

Google Cardboard with DCS World

@Isegrim:

As you can see in this screenshot, yes, I do have the module installed, I've played it before:

A strange thing is the the other two "free" modules are working perfectly fine.

I've made no change to the controls, I've even checked to put them to "default" just in case something has changed by mistake:

I had the same problem with the FW-190's module.

The .diff file was corrupted or not compatible any more with the controls.

The Ka-50 had some udate recently.

Erase (better a backup) the diff files in the saved games directory and restart the profile from scratch.

EDIT: If after the update you copied back some file from the previous installation maybe that is the problem.

I haven't found those files you were talking about, so I've uninstalled the game, although I've tried to avoid this. Why? Simply because of the "Activation/Deactivation" system ("Deactivation" which I haven't managed to do anyways, the things stated in the Ka-50 manual don't exist in the "field" when trying to deactivate the product). Now I am downloading the latest versions of DCS World and Ka-50 via BitTorrent and then I will re-install the product and see if the game is functional again.

The controler settings are stored under C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input

These settings are not affected by uninstalling or re-installing DCS. Therefore you might want to try to delete the settings there - or better, delete the whole DCS subfolder (after making a backup ofc). The next time you start DCS, all settings will be recreated with default values by DCS. I think this is what flankerone had in mind.

Gunnodayak, your screen shots say that you are running version 1.2.10! If I recall correctly, then there were some bug reports at that time where people would end up in the wrong aircraft when starting a mission. Maybe this is related.

I strongly recommend that you update your installation. Run "Update DCS" from the start menu.

Good idea, but I've already uninstalled the game and deleted that saved games folder you were talking about. In a few minutes my new installation will be done and I will tell you if it's OK now.

Gentlemen, the problem was solved only after uninstalling the DCS World and Ka-50 module and then re-installing with the latest versions for both (1.2.11.34087.547-360):

The starting view position of the aircraft after finishing loading is also OK now:

After:

I was also not being asked about the serial number after re-installation ... weird, but it's OK, I hope I didn't spent one "Activation/Deactivation" slot with that. :)

Thank you for your suggestions! I wish you all a good day!

Repair your game. I think some of the files are missing. I hope repair will fix your issue.

One more thing always attach your joystick and any other device before running DCS World. Other-wise your joystick or device will not function properly

I don't know if this is related or not, but I've had trouble with any mission (campaign included) where the Russian Blackshark skin 'Army Standard' was used. I deleted the skin and let the updater redownload it all, but no joy. I simply had to change the skin on every KA50 in every mission where it was used.

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

It is because you didn't deleted every thing. The serial information is saved in registry. You have to de-activate your cd key if you want to uninstall completely.
