I have been trying to set up a free teamspeak server for my DCS server, but can't get it to work and am looking for some help.

I've followed the instructions from the teamspeak and portforwarding sites on how to do it and what ports to open etc.

Server has:

- static IP

- windows firewall off (in an attempt to get it to work)

- three ports open and verified open

- and the TS3 server has been accessed and set up on the host machine

Does anyone have any advice?

First, I think teamspeak-forum might be more appropriate place to look for help with your problem. Next: maybe you could be more specific and explain what you mean with "can't get it to work"...

Hi thanks,

Windows 7 64 bit - using 64bit TS3 server and client

I am trying to connect on 71.119.124.108:9987

I am unable to connect on the same machine or through LAN or over larger interwebs.

I have the server set up with a "dcs" password atm.

If you are unable to connect using the TS3 client I assume you set a password when setting up the server rather than using the client program to edit the server. If that is the case I would recommend starting over. Delete the server program and set it up again with no password. If that works you should be able to establish a password by editing the server through the client software.

Agreed. It's easy to start over fresh and once you are able to join the server from the client on the same machine then you can start to worry about all the possible network issues.

If you want it easily accessible to others, once its working set up ddns on your router or pc with one of the free services. You can get a name like ts.blabla.net or whatever. If you own a domain, set up a cname and your server is super easily accessible. I dont know if a 'so you want to set up a squadron' thread would be helpful, but I could go through the process of setting up a php board, ts, etc. all for 'free' to cheap (less than $20 a year) if you have an always on home computer/server.

Ive been half heartedly setting up such a thing (78th-dcs.com) and it's pretty easy and has thus far cost me $12 for the domain for a year.

I have not set up a dedicated server, but that's on the horizon. I've just been mulling over whether to wait for awhile after DCSW 2.0 in hopes of actually seeing an actual real dedicated server...
