313_Nevo Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 It will be cool if we can make the controls visible/invisible. In some planes (e.g. P51) they cover some gauges/switches and for people without trackir (or similar hw) will be much easier to spot them. And what about to have the stick and throttle toggable visible/invisible together with the pilot body?
T_A Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 I`m having a problem believing they will put any effort into this, like you said - the solution is a Trackir or equivalent device. its like asking for a better control scheme for people who fly with Keyboard and Mouse. 313_Nevo Posted November 27, 2014 Author Posted November 27, 2014 ^^yes P51's throttle covers quite an important gauge...but even trackir doesnt help in that case :) its just what it is and also a RL pilot has to live with that fact/disadvantage i suppose. it is a game not RL ;) my point is that it was quite easy for pilot to look around the cockpit. so why not to make it also easier for us gamers? and yes, trackir is not the solution for everything
9.JG27 DavidRed Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 (edited) its a "game" simulation RL and for P51 i dont think you can look around the throttle to really have a look at the altimeter in RL either...but then again, the simple solution is to throttle back a bit and dont go full power all the time, then it is no problem to scan the gauge.if you go full power, i.e. during a dogfight, the altimeter is the least to worry about anyway. Abburo Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 And what about to have the stick and throttle toggable visible/invisible together with the pilot body? This by no mean ... I would not apreciate missing levers inside cockpit. They make easier for all of us to check the current position and so on. TrackIR, move left/right, learn to adapt. 313_Nevo Posted November 27, 2014 Author Posted November 27, 2014 T_A I am having a problem believing that you are guessing if developers will put effort in this or that. ;) THIS IS WISHLIST!!! :D I dont know if it is simulation of RL to have the pilot body in cockpit or not (and they put the effort in it). My body is in my cockpit, my stick and throttle is in my cockpit... Thats why it would be nice to have it toggable (not necessarily with the body) , so everyone is happy :)
9.JG27 DavidRed Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 with the pilot body there is yet the problem that the animations are missing.it is a nice feature to have but it is not fully functional...meaning, in RL a pilot can move his arms and also feet to glance at certain spots in the pit.you cannot do that within dcs. so there it again makes sense to toggle the pilot off. hey, once we have a "full motion suit" interacting with dcs and the virutal pilot body, i wouldnt care for a toggle switch anymore and leave it set to on...thats something for the wishlist, DCS: SUIT :)
313_Nevo Posted November 28, 2014 Author Posted November 28, 2014 But still I wish I wish I wish that developers will make the stick & throttle toggle visible/invisible :) Ach the RL!? ..are you able to map in P51D more then one button on your HOTAS throttle? So where is your RL now?
