Zooropa Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Hello pilots :pilotfly: I've been trying out ways to improve the framerate I get with DCS Huey. I've forfeited the 1920x1080 resolution and just settled on a 1366x768 one and used the Low setting in the graphic options and I'm using Razer's game booster to start the game. Generally, I get a decent frame rate of around 30-40 FPS in flight and I love it. But when I get closer to the ground / buildings the frame rate sometimes drops dramatically for a few seconds and I would assume it gets worse in missions with a large number of units. Haven't really attempted them yet I am still practicing my landings :joystick: I was thinking that one way to improve the FPS would be to remove the visual effect of the main rotor, since, even though it looks great, it is not actually critical :) Does anybody know if there are any mods that maybe attempted that? Or other mods that might improve performance by forfeiting some graphic elements? I run the game on a Lenovo Y580 laptop hooked on an external monitor: Intel i7 3610 QM 8GB ram SSD drive Nvidia GTX 660M Thanks :joystick:
sniperwolfpk5 Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I would suggest the following. Turn off civilion trafic Lower water quality lower visibility turn off HDR effects lower trees visibility and other visbility slider on top right i don't remeber exactly. One of them is FPS killer. Win10, Intel 3rd Gen. Core i7 3.8Ghz, 20GB ram, Nvidia Geforce 1060 6GB Opentrack (Download it from HERE), PS3 Eye, Saitek x52-pro Joystick, DIY Rudder Pedals, Google Cardboard with DCS World English is not my native language
HiJack Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I set my Anti-aliasing to 8X and AF to Application controlled and it seems to haw made quite a difference. Try experimenting a bit with your GPU config settings.
mvsgas Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 In my case, I wanted the range to see, so I lower or disable the shadow, disable Aero interface. Civilian traffic and water low, MSAA and HDR off. Clutter and bushes to 50, trees to 5k. And I overclock my video card a bit. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
