Works properly for me now on my Saitek X-52 Pro Throttle with the exception that after starting a mission I first have to move the trimwheel "by hand" before the game reacts to any axis inputs. After that the trim wheel works fine.

Don't have Saitek Trim wheels but I guess the result should be pretty much the same

Anyway with "ordinary axis" trim result too sensible, better use keys.

I have modified the axus curves so that 50% of my rotary range reflect the neutral pitch trim (0) position. That way I have very sensible trim action in the tailheavy range but way more precision in the nose heavy trim range (which is what I use most of the time anyway).

Gents ! I see today New update of DCS 2.0.1.50747.33 ALPHA

..With improvement for DCS:Bf-109K4

DCS Bf 109-K4

  • Implemented cockpit camera movement options regarding gunsight retaining movement
  • Corrected Flight manual
  • Reduced flaps control wheel to 8 turns total
  • Redesigned trim and flaps wheels behaviour to cope with Saitek Trim Wheel
  • Reduced drag

I haven't the NEVADA map.. .. Somebody could check if Cessna trim handwheel works properly in the K4 now? :joystick:

I would appreciate any information about this issue. thanks

Confirmed (1.5.3).

Now flaps follow the axis course, if you move the axis ~50%, the flaps drop ~50% and stop (need adjust curves to match) - is not more ON/OFF.

Same for trim - still the problem that need "awake" the trim with keys, maybe work OK in Saitek trim wheel, as this use encoder and not analog axis.

This curve set the 0 trim in ~50% of axis (in a "3in1" joy throttle). Not that this is correct, just for test, need this axis for... throttle. :D

Sokol1_br Thanks for the info, ... but I have performed that test, days ago, in the DCSW ver1.5.3, ..and i think, that the Cessna trim handwheel must work with more real time imput, ..like the a/c control stick or throttle.

I've performed the test in a slider control axis, of my Joystick, (i've got a two throttles joystick) in DCS 1.5.3 , and I´ve suffered some lag, about 2 or 3 seconds, from the input position in the Joy. slider control lever.

We haven´t that lag in the throttle control, because it works with direct input. Usually when i am fliying, i see the trottle lever in the aircraft with a bit rattling, becouse the Joysctick axis have a bit "noise", and DCSW, have not axis noise filter as IL2-BoS.

Now the a/c Trim handwheel in DCW1.5.3 have a input filter, ..but we can not configure the response.

Somebody can check this issue in DCSW 2 alpha?

Probable because the trim system are set for Saitek Trim Wheel - a multi-turn device.

"Redesigned trim and flaps wheels behaviour to cope with Saitek Trim Wheel"

Notice in this video that trim change don't follow - degree by degree - the wheel (in Saitek and the virtual one in P-51 cockpit) movement, but are some lag - probable due reduction gears in real device.

I always find a bit optimistic this desire to trim (well) sim planes with theses low resolution, restrict movement - typically ~50-60º - wheels and slider in joysticks. :)

Maybe suitable for WT or old il-2...

Tried to bind flaps on a second Poti on my throttle and while it respons well (does not require button pressing to recognie axis input unlike the trim) I have trouble when retracting the flaps, means they'll stop at ~ 10° position. After extending them a little and retracting them again afterwards they usually come in as supposed.

I've tried a.number of axis tweaks with high deadzones to make sure it's not an issue with faulty input from the poti. After all it seems to be a game issue though so I switched back to buttons.
