DarkFire Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Well this is most embarrassing, especially since I spent so long flying the Su-27 ever since the good old Flanker 1.5 SCE! I just took the -27 for a ride having been flying the Su-25T... And found it to be barely controllable! There seemed to be some sort of lag between control inputs and actual stick movement. Is this genuine or an artefact of the game engine. Attached is a track which will hopefully illustrate what I mean. Since the -27 got the advanced flight model (or whatever the correct term for it is) the flight controls feel a LOT more sensitive. I can see the benefit in this but it's like flying a whole new aircraft! If anyone can offer any helpful hints or tips I'd be most grateful. Devrim Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 There's nothing wrong in track to me. You just did a good flight. But... I wonder why don't you use trimming?... TAW_Impalor Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Hi, I watched the track, it was long and boring )) I also found the new 27 easy to stall (which you didn't), but setting my pitch and roll curves to 20 helps it. Also, my buttkicker gives nice feedback to avoid stalls. 12900KF@5.4, 32GB DDR4@4000cl14g1, 4090, M.2, W10 Pro, Warthog HOTAS, ButtKicker, Reverb G2/OpenXR
DarkFire Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 Thanks for the advice all, appreciated :) There's nothing wrong in track to me. You just did a good flight. But... I wonder why don't you use trimming?... I tried using trim. Pitch trim seemed to work but I couldn't correct the left roll no matter how much I applied. I think I'll have to re-check my assigned control axes. Also, my buttkicker gives nice feedback to avoid stalls. Yes, very boring sadly but I thought I'd take it out for a check test... Or take myself out for a check test more like! I have my roll & pitch axes set to curvature 15 at the moment so I'll experiment with higher values. Makes sense. DarkFire Posted January 4, 2015 Author Posted January 4, 2015 Probably need to adjust the stick axis curves in the dcs setup sir. Changing the pitch curve to 20 made things significantly easier, thanks for the tip.
