To Developers about Multiplayer...

Hi DCS,

thank you for your work.

First of all sorry for my bad english.

 

I don't undestand some simple aspects unprocessed by developers about DCS multiplayer (very important question these days).

 

1. There isn't a simple menu to add and manage "favorites" servers.

2. There is no way to order server list by number of players, ping, server name , with a simple mouse click on the tab (what?!?:doh:.. we have interactive training, beautiful editor, encyclopedia,etc etc ... but nothing about this stupid feature???)

3. Why DCS reboot every time from main menu to multiplayer menu??? ... It is really necessary for technical reasons?? I think is better put an option for auto log-on on/off.

4. Minor important... There isn't a filter menu for server list (for example to hide full servers or password protected).

PS - DCS need Edge 2.0! The strong graphic point of DCS are beautiful cockpits ... but the mountains are pyramids, the green is a texture of 1990 videogame.

I never understood that either. all these wonderfully complex aircraft but we don't have a feature as simple as a server filter. Maybe a MP System like FSX has where you can log in and still navigate the main load screen for settings and stuff would be nice.

 

Also, the option to ajust settings when in a MP Server would be great. I've logged into a few MP Servers post latest patch, only to find my throttle's were re-assigned and my FC3 jets went full AB after start-up.

If I understand correcty I can answer question 3:

The main menu and the MP client are different programs, one starts the other. Same in Singleplayer by the way.

ED announced they want to change it soon.

Maybe it's because they didn't think anyone was crazy enough to host servers for long periods of time without a dedicated server program. Few/no servers would mean a good server browser is unnessasary.

 

We're crazy though so I guess we showed em!

The SP main menue and the actual ingame part which the MP is only using are indeed two different programms. They said they want to combine them wth DCS World 2 / EDGE.

 

But if you just want to play MP you don't need to take the way around through the SP launcher. When you install the game you should get two desktop icons: one for SP and one for MP. If you use the MP-icon you should get straight into the MP menue. I don't know if it works the same way with the Steam version.

I would like to see a filtering setup like Arma_3 MP has, so if I am looking for WWII only servers in DCS MP, only the WWII servers that are offered would appear in a search for them.
