MaddPhish Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I've found the Mig fun to putter about in and have been learning the ropes on it, but correct trim has proven difficult. I'm using Yoyo's Warthog script, but adjusting the trimmer seems to do nothing at all and I've resorted to using Recovery mode when straight and level flight is needed and then resetting the SAU before maneuvering. Is this an issue with the script or is the trimmer simply not very effective?
Flagrum Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Trimming is quite effective. There has been complaints that the trim switch acts to coarse so that you always either trim a tiny amount too much or too less when trying to level out - but others say, thats just the way it is. But however, trim as such works.

But I am using a TM Warthog setup and the trim function works fine for me. You are aware that it only trims nose up or nose down, right? lmp Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 In case you were ramp starting the MiG, did you turn the trimming system on at all (RV16 switch)?
MaddPhish Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 I've been doing air starts for now, but I'm starting to think the issue is with the TARGET profile and I might need to fiddle with it.
panzerd18 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Is there any aileron and rudder trim in the mig?
NeilWillis Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Nope, but there is a straight and level autopilot mode.
CrackerJack Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I think you'll find the issue is with the script. I had a similar experience, no trim response. Then I checked the script key mapping and it wasn't correct. When you trim you should see the trim switch on the stick in the cockpit move then you'll know that its mapped correctly.
