Well to be honest. I dont see the point. When Kudos mentioned this in a flight a few days ago it was about a match against squadron leaders. Somewhere the idea has changed. I signed up for a squadron leader v squadron leader match. If thatr is not what it is then im out. Sorry.

Wheres that crying emicon?

is this ok?

I either play alone or with MY team. That to me is what being a squadron leader is all about. Please respect my decision.

And before someone thinks he's a quitter - i can tell you i wouldn't fly

versus my squad mates on the other team. If you fly together for ages

you're familiar on comms, know the tactics and so on - the leaders

won't have a chance. That's what training is about, or not?

this is still a game, right?

we do these things because we enjoy them.,even if taken seriously. But it's cool.if he doesnt want to fly, not a problem. I respect his reasons. To me, this is a game and it should be just about fun.

to each his own.

And what's fun about?

I know the 169th back from the F/A-18 days and i can tell

you they are top notch pilots so anyone who is willing to fly

versus more than 2 of them (being on comms) must be new

to the game ... eh, sim ... or stupid.

But if you wanna lose ... ever thought there's a reason for

ICE to fly with his team?

Same story for the other squads :D

Simple: People fly this game in the way that's most fun for them. Everything else is pretty extraneous. IMHO anyway.

As such I don't think Ice should be criticized for bowing out, nor do I think anyone should be criticized for participating.

A GAME!!!!

A GAME!!!

You dare call this Simulator........ (Gasp) .......... A GAME?

Here's some soap..... Go wash your mouth out young lad.

;) :p

yes, this a sim is not.

I dont know you, but..

-IRL strobes do work in aircraft

-IRL you dont have transparent trees

-IRL you'd blackout if your couch/chair leaned 30° while you swing it around to get your doughnut

-IRL planes have fire extinguishers

-IRL there is no "RCVR"

-IRL shadows are not blocky

-IRL pilots arent as stuck up ;)

-IRL your wife/GF does not shout "get your damned ass here, dinner is getting cold"

(In Real Life people dont say "IRL")

in a GAME, we do :p

etc..

extraneous should be the word of 2006 :D

If people fly this game in the way that's most fun for them then let'm fly

with 54's all day long, vulching and all else.

I can name 169 and 44. Both have maps where vulching is fine. (However, the airfields tend to be defended ;) )

You say you've read in the briefing of a 169th map that

vulching is ok? Not doubting your word, just wanna clarify.

Edit: ok, they allow it; checked it.

Just jumped on it. Direct Copy and paste, bolding/emphasis mine:

~~~~~~~~~~~72 Player BVR~~~~~~~~~~~~
Waypoint 1 (Mt Cougar) Is common for all aircraft
Weather: Partly Cloudy
Vulching is allowed. (Shooting of piloted aircraft on the ground) This is WAR!
I didn't copy the entire briefing as it wasn't necessary. Vulching's ok if you put in the right defenses ;)
