TheTrooper Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Hi all, I got a couple of questions relating to the obvious (title). I'd like to know what everyone does in this sort of situation. How can you easily switch from one target to another, or cancel lock? Currently I have to select another radar mode (1-7) then back again to what ever mode. if it was Beyond Visual Range mode (2) I even have to switch the radar back on. Even then sometimes can't select a different target. After firing one missile, do you need to keep that target locked up or can you switch to another target, or go defensive? (ie. missile still tracks) ----------------------------------------------- Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-6700 (3.4GHz) 8MB Cache | 32GB HyperX FURY DDR4 2133MHz | MSI GeForce RTX 2070 ARMOR 8G |SSD 1TB 970 EVO Plus M.2
Fouga Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) Hi Trooper, 1- There is a specific key command to "Return to search" (by default : Backspace) and AFAIK you cannot "cycle" between different targets. After the unlock, you have to designate and lock again. 2- Depends on the type of missile's seeker. For the Su-27 and Su-33 you only have 2 types : - R27-(E)R are SARH (Semi Active Radar Homing) and they need you to maintain the lock until it arrives at destination. - R27-(E)T and R-73 are IR (InfraRed guided), they are fire and forget but may follow the wrong target if several heat signatures are too close (pay attention if your buddy is "Merged" with bandit) Edited January 4, 2015 by Fouga [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] EVAC : French virtual fighter school on DCS-World
