bin801 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 DCS recognized my three brand, four set hardwares. CH peddle, TM Cougar set, Saitek trimmer and mouse.(DCS regard TM stick and throttle as one hardware ) Now I want to change my stick from TM cougar to another brand one, while keep the cougar throttle, that means there will be five hardwares be pluged. My question is: is there a limitation for the numbers of hardware that can be recognized by DCS? And, what is your experience on combine hardware use in DCS? Thanks!!
FlyingHighAU Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Guessing by the amount of buttons some of these cockpit builders use, it would say its at least 64 perhaps even 256. I've only ever managed to get about 7, so who knows it might only 8 lol.
cichlidfan Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 From what I have seen, the limit for the number of USB hubs that your computer will accept chained together will be reached before you reach the controller limit for DCS. I have had two mice, two keyboards, TM throttle and stick, G13, Orbweaver, TIR, touchscreen, pedals, Xkeys device, and a game controller(not being used but detected by DCS), all connected at the same time with no issues. ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme 8GB, Corsair HX1000i, Phillips BDM4065UC 40" 4k monitor, VX2258 TouchScreen, TIR 5 w/ProClip, TM Warthog, VKB Gladiator Pro, Saitek X56, et. al., MFG Crosswind Pedals #1199, VolairSim Pit, Rift CV1

I am soooo happy to hear what u told me, hahaha what a beautiful cockpit, I mean it. BTW, Why do you plug two mice? what for? please let me know, because I had a same mind spark at a short moment. I want my left hand click mouse while right hand on stick, that is the only reason I have in my mind. But I didn't try. Any other use of the left hand mouse? Thank you

cichlidfan Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Since my pit is not the most convenient thing to get in and out of when just doing maintenance stuff, I find it convenient to have an extra mouse and keyboard off to the side for easy access. These days the second keyboard is not there but I still have an, easy to reach, second mouse. I use Team Viewer for most non-flying interaction with that machine now.
