FlyNate Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Maybe one day Belsimtek will finish the Mi-8... Wonder if we could get them to give us the M134 Minigun as a door gun option? Sure would be nice to use the Mi-8 as an American Contractor Mi-17 on the new Nevada map soon. After 2 years in beta, and other projects being released, isn't it at least a little overdue?..... Belsimtek? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Slazi Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Would be nice, but if they're gonna add a door gunner, they should use Russian hardware first.
Toxic Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Would be nice, but if they're gonna add a door gunner, they should use Russian hardware first. I agree. Maybe just two or one PKM's on the sides and/or tail section! #CHOPPERLIVESMATTER http://www.aircombatgroup.co.uk/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
FlyNate Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 I agree. Maybe just two or one PKM's on the sides and/or tail section! I agree. Russian stuff first, but then give us the Minigun from the Huey as well. Opens up some wonderful and exciting mission making opportunities. Not to mention add to realism. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
FlyNate Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 Would be nice, but if they're gonna add a door gunner, they should use Russian hardware first. I don't want to know "if" they are adding door gunners, I want to know "when" lol. That's the only way to make it realistic is to give us the option as promised a LONG time ago. I wont even get into the removal option for the rear doors. Honestly, I think we should be able to remove them and add a .50cal there as well, either Russian 12.7 or American M2/M3. I have no problem with the way they did the Huey door gunners. It would be neat to have other players as door gunners, but they will still have to do something similar to the Huey door gunners for single player missions. I don't understand why they wont do that until shared cockpit is available. At least the Huey has gunners that can return fire. It sucks that there are those of us that bought the Mi-8 and love it and we have yet to see it finished after 2 YEARS. I'm tired of using it for "trash haulin." I want to do air assaults and other missions where I can at least be able to have the crew return fire. I feel like these issues and possibly even the entire project, have fallen through the cracks. Belsimtek wont even comment about it. Wonder whats up...? I have High hopes for them and the Mi-8 module. A comment on the matter containing info about this would be nice... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Slazi Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I admit, communication does appear to be an issue. But they are making progress. A draft manual was posted recently, which a lot of people, including myself, seem to have missed. External fuel tanks were also ninjad in at some point. The Mi-8 is a great machine to fly, so I'm hopeful for thef future. This module is a long term investment for me.

But, I wish Belsimtek would at least give us an update on how things are running and progressing every month or so (or quarter) it would really help with all of this speculating! :pilotfly: #CHOPPERLIVESMATTER http://www.aircombatgroup.co.uk/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

People, in general, want to know whats going on when they have paid for something, ESPECIALLY FLIGHTSIMMERS :megalol: I know I fit into that comment lol, just frustrated because it seems like they could produce better, more complete, products one by one rather than do so many at once. I could be wrong but who knows. After 2 years, anything could happen... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
msalama Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Not to mention add to realism. If real-life M134-equipped Hips exist then yeah, definitely. Otherwise, no. The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

AlphaOneSix Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 If real-life M134-equipped Hips exist then yeah, definitely. Otherwise, no. They do exist. I've shot about 10,000 rounds on the range so far this week! (And I get paid to do it.) I'm getting really good at clearing jams that we keep inducing on each other, too.
FlyNate Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 they do exist.. I saw them in Afghanistan Plus, I found this video! Also you can hear the M240 rockin in the background. Not sure if its mounted in the back with the doors off or if its mounted in the right side emergency exit. Ive seen it mounted in either place... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
FlyNate Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 The Afghan Contractor/CIA application is the exact reason I hope we get this... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
msalama Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 They do exist. OK, then by all means give us such a loadout as well please :) The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

AlphaOneSix Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I don't remember the whole setup weighing that much. I'll have to check at work tomorrow to see what ours weigh.
FlyNate Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 That's what we need for the DCS Mi-8/17. I have flown the Russian campaign more than once, but I am more interested in the modules use for other countries. US contractor missions on the modern battlefield, as well as other countries are my virtual unit's primary use of this aircraft, and all I was saying was we wanted the full realistic capability of the module. I'm glad to see other 8/17 pilots wanting the same level of realism. Gives me a little hope that maybe Belsimtek wont leave us hanging. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Well, I believe Belsimtek has a lot of their plate right now, I just really want them to make some improvements! I don't care if it's just a little .22 hanging off the end ;) #CHOPPERLIVESMATTER http://www.aircombatgroup.co.uk/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
AlphaOneSix Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 We just got our 2015 calendars from Dillon Aero, and guess who is featured for September! (Note: You may have to concentrate, but there is a helicopter in the picture.)

EagleFox Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Ahh just want to see some updates even if its ventilator on front dash!!
FlyNate Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 (edited) I agree. They have released 2 more aircraft and the Mi8 is STILL in beta... disappointing. Im not 100% sure but I think the Huey isnt finished either. If thats the case, that means we have 4 aircraft from the same 3rd party developer and none have been finished. Im not buying anything else from Belsimtek until I see something finished. MOST of my virtual unit feels the same way and we have membership ranging in the hundreds. Many of us just want to see something finished. We paid our hard-earned money and the projects were never completed. Had I known the Mi8 would be in beta this long when I bought it about a year ago, I would have never purchased it. Edited March 3, 2015 by FlyNate [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
