PROBLEM: Chute and Chaff/Flare refuse to work

Recommended Posts

Since a few weeks ago my chute doesnt flare and since about the same time also Chaff and flare refuse to dispence...

The Keys are bound correctly... looking at the buttons in the cockpit shows that they are being pushed down... the typical sound appears... but nothing happens...

so... whats the point?

Please help...

of course its a nice training landing without using the drag chute, but doesnt work on short tunways...

so... again... someone got an idea?

Can you show us a track please? I can only guess that the cover for the "dispense flare" switch might be closed, but a track would provide further research analysis.

I did ask about the cover when we were flying yesterday. Or was it Para who wanted to know why his counter measures weren't working?

I had a similar problem when starting to fly the Mig. Check the following settings:
Key binding | Default Value

SPRD Drop Cover Open | Shift+J

Drop Countermeasures (ASO & SPS-141) | map this to something
My first mistake was that my Drop Countermeasures (ASO & SPS-141) setting wasn't mapped. I don't know whether this was me or if it came this way.

You need to open the cover before dispensing, then when you want to dispense you need to hold the dispense button until you hear the dispensers firing. It's not an instantaneous release on press. This was my second mistake, I didn't know that you need to hold the button in.

Hope that's helpful

Thx for your help... all you mentioned i tested before... so it didnt help... after i tried to create a track-file as xxxjohnxxx (by the way: Thx for many very helpful tutorials) mentioned, it worked without any problems - as it was before the problem occurred...

the only thing that might have made the difference: i updated the game back to the current version... we used the older one the last days to play a MiG-21 campaign... but i´m not shure that this made the point, because the problem has appeared before that...

so beyond all of that: it works again... so thx again for helping... i come back to this thread, when it appears again
