pdmarsh Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 I would like to make a request on behalf of all those who put in the time and effort to script and post missions. As one who has only scratched the surface of this activity, I can attest to how much work is involved and, I can assure you, we don't do it for the money--at least not yet for some I'm sure. :) Negative feedback is better than no feedback and will hopefully lead to better missions down the road, if not improvements to the mission in question. Positive feedback is very much appreciated. Please do post your star ratings and comments--even just a few words will do. Thank you, Skeeter (a.k.a. Home Fries Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I'm with you Skeeter. While I wouldn't go so far as to say any negative feedback is preferable to none, as long as the feedback is constructive or at least respectful I completely agree. I speak for myself, but for all of my mods and contributions, I would rather hear about an issue so that I can fix it, and my goal is to release high quality mods, not to have the least amount of criticism. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
Mr_Burns Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Don't worry about asking $10 for your hard work, it's the least I can give to thank you for your efforts. Then you will probably get disrespectful feedback though if it's not $10 worth ;-) We have the aircraft, but we need the missions to improve the experience of flying them!
NeilWillis Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Agreed, anyone investing time, effort, and know how into building missions definitely should expect suitable remuneration from those of us using your missions. I'm just amazed how few do expect at least voluntary contributions.
pdmarsh Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 I'm just amazed how few do expect at least voluntary contributions. It really is amazing how much can be found on the internet in general for free. It's almost a modern barter system, but not like "I'll give you sack of potatoes if you fix my wagon wheel." It's more like a pay-it-forward economic model, along the lines of--I get a free graphics package over there, but post missions here. It's not a direct trade, but an exchange of effort nonetheless. I imagine that lots of articles, if not books, have been written on the economics of the internet.
