--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been offline for several years... I had actually played Flanker many years ago and was there at the at the beginning when Lock-on was introduced.....

As life always throws you problems, I have some serious health issues ....

My health is now a little more stable and thought that it might be a good time to go back and try the most difficult of issues, Modern Combat...

I'm totally impressed with advances that Ed has implemented in the FC 3.....

But as it stands I can't get my joystick operating properly...

So, this is how it stacks up..

My hotas is from the old school, it's a cougar and at one point in time I went all out and modded it with the NXT and rudder configuration.

This ( at the time it was extremely expensive. about the same as todays Wart Hog...)

So I've been trying to set up my Cougar to work with the FC software and haven't been able to get my throttle to function..

I thought it would work if I tried it out on the new saber jet but (no joy...)

I have lost a lot of my programmer skills and the Foxy software was never one of my strong points...

Anyway do one of you experts know If I can possibly make this cougar and if so how do I go about this

If one of you guys could take the time to explain this to me I will forever be in your dept

Don't know if this helps, I have an x-52. Some axis don't seem to be auto recognized, but they still show up in the drop down menu on the controller config screen. If I manually select the axis it works for me.

Hey Blaze,Sounds like the Stick may need to be flashed? its been some time since i used mine and you may want to take a look at the T.A.R.G.E.T software from TM and see if that works. If not then Foxy is the only way last know link i had was this http://cougar.flyfoxy.com/index.php hope it helps..

Things are beginning to open up for me, and I'm really quite happy my progress...

I've installed Target as you suggested and the Cougar is working 100% better...

I was able to get the throttle to operate On the Saber Jet but haven't been able to get the throttle to operate as of yet for my favorite plane the Mig 29, Although I was able to program some of the Cougar Keys to select some of the essential systems.

I'm still reading documentation regarding the Saber Jet, I did actually have some dealings with this plane in Strike Fighters years ago And I know that this jets operating systems are really quite rudimentary....

So I really owe you one...

Thanks Slowhand

I would suggest you use the HOTAS without TARGET and assign all controls directly in DCS. Take a look at the modifiers in DCS itself if you want to have a mode switch.
