Pn_otnik Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Hi, everybody. The issue is when I start a mission (free flight or training), I can lower the gear, then raise it for only about a few seconds. Later, in a minute or so, if I lower the gear again, it won't go back up. It isn't locked, I checked that. The lever moves to the up position. But the gear does not not. Is this a glitch? What do I need to do?
EngineerFalcon Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Without any other info I'd say you are flying too fast for the gear to operate properly, but I could be wrong. Try uploading a track file.

tsb47 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I get this sometimes too, even when lowering the gear below the threshold, when I'm doing multiple touch and gos. I am guessing it is because the compressed air has run out. Would appreciate if someone could confirm? Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit | i7-4790K@4GHz | 8GB RAM | GTX970 347.52

Because LG extension and retraction is handeled by main hydraulic system (unles in emergency extension by emergency pneumatic system)

Because LG extension and retraction is handeled by main hydraulic system (unles in emergency extension by emergency pneumatic system) I used the normal gear extension system, so it would have been the hydraulic system. I had three green on the gears. So no indication there was damage. Could it have been damaged with no indication? If the gears use the hydaulic system, does that mean that it doesn't matter whether you leave the lever in the up or down position? t Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit | i7-4790K@4GHz | 8GB RAM | GTX970 347.52
Golo Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 (edited) If the gears use the hydaulic system, does that mean that it doesn't matter whether you leave the lever in the up or down position? The LG retraction and extension is one thing and it uses main hydraulic system (unles emergency extraction). And wheel brakes is another thing and it uses compressed air of main pneumatic system (unles emergency braking). If you leave the LG lever up the wheels will be using compressed air for braking continuously from main pneumatic system until empty. Thats why you have to put LG lever back to neutral position, or you will loose all your main compressed air. Leaving LG lever down on landing does not have any negative effect to my knowledge. Ok, so you can leave the gear lever in the down position without any ill effects but leaving it in the up position will bleed compressed air...
