crazyeddie Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I am working on a mod to allow me to add some tree lines and forests to the map, found the tree's .edm's easily but cannot see where the forest .edm's are hidden. Are they hard coded into the game so unavailable, or am I missing something obvious. Anyone got any ideas
slamraamproductions Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I remember making the different forrests selectable as an object in the ME in FC2, no experience in DCS. But this is the place i think: \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Terrain\Structures\High\EDM Now the question is what are they named, are all of the tree_ .edm single trees? <==DCS Flaming Cliffs 3: Operation Grand Slam <==Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2 Tribute
Lilkiki Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 For example, "trees_4.edm" is not a single tree, same for "trees_1.edm", good luck ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
crazyeddie Posted February 11, 2015 Author Posted February 11, 2015 Thanks Guys but the .edm files for the forests are not in the Structure/High/EDM file. The tree files in there are simple small clumps of trees or lines of trees of many different lengths. They are named Tree_ or Alleya_. The files I am trying to find used to be called Forest_. Forest_1 through to _15 were a bunch of different sized woods that you could place on the map in a similar way to structures. Birdy666 came up with the Mods for Lomac and LFC2 where you could do that using the .lom files which were in the same place as all the others, but now they are not there, and I am trying to recreate that Mod for DCS World. I am guessing they are hard coded and we cannot get at them. I have searched every file now and I cannot find them.
Lilkiki Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I would also say that all forest areas are hard coded but I'm not 100% sure as we can easily identify forest areas in the ME, it may be makes sense [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
