Hi everyone,

i have a question regarding installing a new Video card in my PC, from what a i know is that DCS install record all the specs of your PC . so do i need to deactivate my Module ( i have bought 2 ) and then install the Video card then Reactivate them back??

Also if that's what i need to do , Do i lose all progress i achieved in the single player campaign and all my saves when i deactivate ?

Thank you in advance for your help

hi,

you will not loose any progress.

all you need to know is there: activation stuff

most likely you woudnt even have to do it, but next time you would change hardware, you would loose an activation, so just do it now ;)

somewhere is a point system that explains when a new activation would be required.

regards,

RR

btw, if you dont know where to get your hardware code, you can look at https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/licensing/index.php

just enter your key there and check it, at the bottom of the generated view you will find it.

found it:

An activation will be required if the hardware/software changes exceed 12 points as rated

below:

CPU ID: 13

Windows PID: 3

Computer Name: 3

Hard drive volume serial number: 3

MAC address: 6

RAM amount: 6

*source: FC3 manual

so for the graphic card it is not needed.

QQ: What is the reason to deactivate the product? Does it recycle your activation?

For example: If I have 3 activation's left and I know I am going to be upgrading my pc, when I deactivate does it change to 4?

Yes.

For example: If I have 3 activation's left and I know I am going to be upgrading my pc, when I deactivate does it change to 4?

I have never actually checked numbers after deactivating but, effectively, yes.
