Is possible to swap the 3d model of existing buildings by new models? I mean sweap for example all the HOUSE1 3d model existing in the map by a new 3d model. This way we can have for example Middle east style houses or Afghan style houses that will blend better with existing repaints.

I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!

Yes, I have been doing it for years. as long as you have an .edm file of the building you want and the textures to go with it.

Simply rename the .edm file to the name you want to use, and put the texture file into Bazar/TempTextures.

The new .edm goes into the Terrain/Structures/High/EDM

If you want to give it a new name you need to edit the db_unit_ground.lua file, here is an example of how easy that is:

fortification( "Restaurant 1", _("White Office Block"), "restoran1", 100);

I used the existing Restaurant model, which is awful, and replaced it with a modified korpus.edm, which looks like a white office block.

Rename "korpus" to "restoran1", and the game recognises the new model, and the new name shows up in the Mission Builder.

Interesting, pretty interesting, and how I can know the name of the buildings? I mean I want to replace the buildings present in the map villages the ones that came with the vanilla map.

Stratos

Go into DCS World/Bazar/Terrain/Structures/Preview and in there you will find a number of files showing a very small image of all the buildings in the game, the name on the image is also the name on the .edm file, so it is easy to find the ones you want.

If you then open the edm file and scroll down you will find the name of the texture that relates to that building, sometimes there are several textures involved.

It takes a little time to do this, but go slowly and you should soon find the things you need to make changes.

Thanks crazyeddie, now is time to get those Afghan buildings. I think it will improve my repaint a lot.
