triise Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Until some days ago my DCS install worked nice, good FPS and almost no lag. I've been fiddling with some settings and trying some multi-monitor setups the last few days and it seems like I have done something wrong. Now I get very low FPS when looking out of the cockpit, especially when I look at other units in tha game. We're talking about 2-5 fps. This problem is something that have happened all of a sudden, and I haven't done any hardware changes. Before this I had 30-50 fps all the time. Is there some way to reset lua-files? I've tried the "repair DCS" option without luck... Or do I have to do a clean install? Suggestions? Regards, Tore - Newbie simpit builder and electronics geek -
AtaliaA1 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 U could "Un-Do" what ever it is U have done. or a re-install. I assume you were aware of the graphics limits or your hardware when U started the adjustments of your settings? i.e. your graphics card is able to handle the settings you tried? SilentGun Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Were you using only one screen before? Because one graphics card will struggle with a multi-monitor setup. triise Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Ok, now I've deleted DCS and re-installed. Same thing happens... This happened all of a sudden. I can't remember exactly what I did when it happened. Also, when I monitor the GPU-usage of my ATI graphics card, it displays 0% usage during the game. So it looks like the game runs of my integrated graphics adapter (which is disabled in the BIOS). Looking to resinstalling Win7 now. Regards, Tore - Newbie simpit builder and electronics geek -
AtaliaA1 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 No need to reinstall the OS. ATI has a Control Interface that U can tell to use the dedicated GPU instead. Hope he sees this before the attempt to reinstall. This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. triise Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Were you using only one screen before? Because one graphics card will struggle with a multi-monitor setup. I was only using the extra monitors as MFD's. Using a USB2VGA adapter and attaching two 8" screens to them. It worked fine, then I was going to host a multiplayer server. Everything went down. Uninstalled the USB-adapters, tried to repair DCS. No luck... Reinstalling Win7(64) as we speak. Regards, Tore - Newbie simpit builder and electronics geek -
Gladman Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 unclick the "Fullscreen" option in your options settings. When I installed my second GPU I had the same issue until I did this. triise Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Ok, re-install of Win7 did the trick. Things are back to normal. :) (To bad I didn't try dig_it's suggestion first...) Regards, Tore - Newbie simpit builder and electronics geek -
AtaliaA1 Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 One thing about "Re-Installing" is the fact that once you "Re-Install" the program that was causing the errors you are back to square one. It is much better to get to the bottom of any error/errors so that you and we learn the ins and outs of the program as it pertains to the OS. This of course requires a level of patience not so common to the "I want it now" society we live in. Don't get me wrong I fall pray to the same at times, I like others here, only have so much time to Sim. Kids, Wife, Job, Ghumar (Italian for woman on the side) and Bahdah Bing.........The days is gone. This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig.
