TAW_Impalor Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Hello. I like practicing dead-stick landings, and it seems weird that ATA indicator continues to respond to the throttle handle movements when the engine is cut off. Don't know how it should be, but this looks like a bug. Also, keyboard bindings to increase left and right ammo indicators only start to work after I turn the knobs with mouse! 12900KF@5.4, 32GB DDR4@4000cl14g1, 4090, M.2, W10 Pro, Warthog HOTAS, ButtKicker, Reverb G2/OpenXR
sobek Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 If you haven't feathered the prop, the engine and supercharger are still pumping air, so why would the manifold pressure not react to throttle? Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

Makes sense! The manual does not spell out what ATA stands for... 12900KF@5.4, 32GB DDR4@4000cl14g1, 4090, M.2, W10 Pro, Warthog HOTAS, ButtKicker, Reverb G2/OpenXR
MFG62 Joker Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 (edited) Makes sense! The manual does not spell out what ATA stands for... ATA stands for "technische Atmosphäre (absoluter Druck, nicht Überdruck)". It was a type of pressure measurement used back in the thirties and forties (actually in use until 1978 ) in Germany. It describes the absoulute pressure measurement in contrast to pressure above reference pressure (e.g. 1030 mbar or hPa) aka atü (atmosphären Überdruck). In this case the absolute pressure in the manifold intake is measured (air being compressed by supercharger). Edited March 2, 2015 by I./ZG15_FALKE
sobek Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 If we're nitpicking, ATA stands for "Atmosphäre, technisch, absolut". :) Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
