lazduc Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I have purchased most of the modules. After reading a lot of posts I decided long time ago not to fly any or for that matter load DCS world. I only fly Lock-on FC3 and the Boxed versions I have been able to purchase. I would like to know which modules are in Beta, (or Alpha) and which modules are released versions...finished versions...no big bugs. I do not want to participate in the beta or alpha testing....I just want to enjoy the finished modules. I read where folks are having difficulty with the patches that update the updater that patch the patch that updates the latest patch that updates the updater. This is all before the release of Edge....and Edge will be in alpha or beta when released??? See my confusion... Just curious if any of the latest modules other than the ones specific to FC3 can be loaded into FC3....as I understand the latest modules are all programmed to the old engine. Would it be possible to load the Vietnam Mod into FC3? Looking forward to Edge and hope that it is fairly well polished and usable without a ton of repairs, updates, updater updates and ...... Looking forward to the European map. Thanks to all who contribute to this project. :D Laz

Exorcet Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Issues with DCSW can be a mixed bag. I haven't really had any game breaking issues besides a permission issue with the Su-27 AFM patch that prevented the AFM update from working. All I had to do was change my install location. In my opinion, based on the modules I use and how I use them, DCSW works fine and there isn't much need to fear bugs. In order to address issues with bugs though, ED have released a beta install of DCSW. Despite the name you don't need to beta test anything when using it. You can simply use it to test a patch before applying it to your main install. If you really worry about bugs, etc, I suggest leaving your current installs as they are and then installing the DCSW open beta (or just another copy of DCSW, you can install multiples of it) for examining updates. AceRevo Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 When you´re browsing the different modules in the E-shop on DCS´ website, you will see which modules are still in beta. The title will have a (download beta version) next to it, and you´ll know that module is still in beta. The modules are either in beta or it is a final product release. Theres no alpha release, for what I know.. X-55 profile for the F-15C
