Raz_Specter Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Hi all, With the advent of DCS World 2.0 coming, I thought it about time to start back with the Sim and start learning whats what again. I managed to find on the forums some control profiles for the TM Warthog. Downloading them and trying to install them is another matter. I downloaded the profile from this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=62898 extracting the lua files I head into DCS, clearing all the profiles and clicking in the respective columns and clicking load profile, pointing this at the lua files and clicking ok seems to do nothing, the mappings for the controls are not imported and there is just what I started with which is very frustrating. Does anyone know how I can get these controls into DCS please. Any help would be much appreciated. Flagrum Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 The file format changed some patches ago and therefore it is very likely that the ones you find are not compatible. If and how the settings are affected that were created with Export and be loaded by importing - I can't say (never used this feature). The only "adivce" I can give you (or anyone else asking for controller profiles): create your own. Yes, it seems to be a somewhat daunting task, but I would just map "as you go". First the basic axes and buttons (fire, etc.), later all the functions you encounter and consider to be usefull to have on your HOTAS. This way you get really familar with the setup you are using/developing (instead of learning and memorizing just another bunch of stuff - besides the actual functions of the helo).
Raz_Specter Posted March 19, 2015 Author Posted March 19, 2015 thanks for the info Flagrum, will do that then :) Custom built W10 Pro 64Bit, Intel Core i9 9900k, Asus ROG Maximus Code XI Z390, 64GB DDR4 3200 RGB, Samsung 1TB NVme M.2 Drive, Gigabyte AORUS 2080TI, 40" Iiyama Display. ED Team Raptor9 Posted March 27, 2015 ED Team Posted March 27, 2015 I'm going to have to agree with Flagrum. While using someone else's profile might get you into the action quicker, everyone has a certain style of gameplay. Some people might prefer to slew the Shkval with their right thumb, some might prefer their left. IMHO, developing your own makes you more efficient and deadly in combat since your switchology is based on your natural control tendencies. But again, whatever works for ya is whatever works for ya. Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man. DCS Rotor-Head
