Skulleader Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 Hi Flagrum, Thanks for your answer, it's also the case for the Mig-15 and Mi-8... Thanks again, Skull. NeilWillis Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Not in the case of the Mi-8. That manual was released a while ago. The others are in the offing, but I feel they need to be given a high priority, and a lot of love by Belsimtek. I also see that the Su-27 manual needs more attention - how can it possibly be considered complete without a comprehensive summary of the warning light panel. Finding information on the forum to fill the gaps is hardly the right solution. Am I alone in thinking that the manuals are very much an overlooked item for too many modules right now? How can you possibly get the most out of these superbly modelled sims without proper, detailed and accurate manuals.

The Mi-8 manual is a preliminary, and still incomplete version, but it is at least usuable and adds a great deal to the "study sim experience". The missing Sabre manual can be compensated to some extend by using the old US rl manual - it covers all aspects of the aircraft (in contrast to the also available existing US rl Mi-8/17 manual, which completely lacks the armament aspect). Regarding the Mig-15 - is there secondary documentation available? So far I am completely ignoring this module as it is not really my kind of aircraft - and the complete lack of docu doesn't help with that either.
dagandolfo Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 No no no! The English Mi-8 manual was kind of released a while ago but it isn't finished. there is still a lot of Russian text in the English manual. Looking for the post I'm alarmed to see that it WAS OVER A YEAR AGO (12-03-2014, 11:05 PM when the below message was posted!) Unfortunately Belsimtek are EXTREMELY POOR at releasing manuals in a timely fashion. The fact that over 12 months has passed since the admission that draft release manual needed improvement and it still hasn't appeared makes me think that they aren't that interested in completing the Mi-8. How many half finished projects can they put on the back burner to concentrate on new projects they can half finish? I would buy the Mig-15, but until BST can complete a project I don't think I want to give them anymore money! I'm sure I'm not the only one. I was "oh its beta they are busy on other stuff" then I checked the date on that quoted post and 12 months is beyond a joke! Thank you for positive responses. The delay situation was worrisome for the entire team as we fully appreciate the image problem this was creating, so it is very reassuring to see this reaction despite the difficult waiting period. An updated version of the manual is being prepared now that will replace all of the images and have some additional editing/formatting improvements. This is going out shortly (days). There may be additional updates as we move forward, but a final version is not likely to be ready until the module itself goes final. I don't have a target date for this at the moment, but I would not recommend getting your expectations up for Christmas. Besides completing documentation and training, there are still features being developed/completed in code, so estimate further out, though hopefully not too long! P.S. Sling feature is WIP.

No no no - in all fairness, EB posted that in december 2014 (US date format! ;o)
dagandolfo Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015  ah crap! I'll wind my neck in  Ok so it hasn't been a year since that post.. damn you Flagrum with your incorrect date format! Knocked me off my soapbox there haven't you! BST are still bad at completing projects which puts me off buying the Mig-15, bought the F-86 not realising it was BST, I would have boycotted that too had I realised!
