chris2802 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 How to land your 25T in a huge crosswind =) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GFRu0L0MWI Chris
britgliderpilot Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Y'know, I'm certain that if I did that my gear would collapse . . . . . . how does that work? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
chris2802 Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 i actually didnt hit the ground as hard as it looks...my mate took the video on his pc so it looks like it hits teh ground sooner than i did...still it was pretty hard...bout on the limit of what the landing gear could take. You can do it pretty smoothly, I didn't do it too well that time, slight stall just before touchdown if u notice. Chris
Shotsx74 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Thats not even the damn runway so why show the video when your not doing something properly.... I garentee you would never see any plane land in a taxi area...
chris2802 Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 Really?? It's not the runway? I had no idea....! This isn't ment as a serious guide or anything, it's just a bit of fun. No need to throw your toys outta the pram. Chris
phantom_fly85 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 A Crosswind landing is a huge responsibility to land your aircraft. The only thing that was interesting was how you did not break off the landing gear. Cute....
chris2802 Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 Sure it is, in real life. However this is just a computer game. I hope you don't take real life this seriously!
WhiskeyRomeo Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 It's hard to tell there is any crosswind in that video. Check the "Landing XviD.avi' in the Lock On/Movie folder for a good example of crosswind landing techniques.
G3 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 No need to throw your toys outta the pram. Chris:megalol: i too thought it was a real example of a crosswind landing, then saw the humour in it, and then i read the above comment. this brought a smile to my face, life is to short to be to serious. its good to have a laugh instead of a sook occasionally. so, still in the dark, any news on black shark???:joystick:
SuperKungFu Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 It's hard to tell there is any crosswind in that video. I believe the wind was coming in from the front so that's why the plane doesn't shift to the right or left. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
chris2802 Posted May 2, 2006 Author Posted May 2, 2006 yep =) thats why the ground speed is about 20 knots on landing!! Chris
