hi gents,

 

i was wondering if someone might have an idea to get my thought working.

 

the "problem" is, that if you land on your airfield, you might not park where you spawned, and therefore new spawning aircraft could spawn in you, making you both explode.

 

my idea was to have a small sign or paiting on the ground with the according slot number. in all my missions the aircrafts have there slot number painted on them (Bort # , as far as the model allows it), so finding/remembering the parkingspot is no issue.

 

creating a mod for that seems not to be the problem, one could simply create 92 (think thats max slots at anapa) models, but having the ability to type the number into the unit like the Bort # for an aircraft would be better.

 

so, anyone having the knowledge if that can be done?

I think you need a ground chart.

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Not a bad concept. IRL, you may not have a painted parking spot, but you will have a lineman guiding you to your assigned spot. Perhaps some progressive taxi instructions (optional and that don't spam the ground freq which is shared with tower in-game) with a lineman pointing you to a parking spot. Something that in depth would be a ways down the road, but having your assigned parking spot highlighted would be a nice option in the meantime.

 

Either that, or just have better collision detection and/or dynamic spawning to prevent ground collisions.

aye, irl you are navigated by groundcrew or something, we dont have that, and irl there are no spawning aircrafts, hehe ;)

 

you give me an interesting idea home fries, as i'm using only one airbase and placed aircrafts as template for each mission, so essentialy i could just create some triggerzones, and when a specific aircraft taxis trhough it it can get a radio message alà "turn left/right to your parking position".
