Hey all.

So, after I mentioned having gone to see the VE Day flyover on the National Mall, my mother went and dug out my grandfather's WW2 service record for me. He was an engineer aboard the last replacement B-24M flown with the 15th Air Force, 461st Bombardment Group, 765th Squadron.

After doing a little research with this new information, I discovered the 461st had built a website, with collections of photographs of the different flight crews.

Now, as awesome as this collection is for sentimental reasons, there is also some excellent stuff on the 461st's site for DCS. Their historian has compiled a list of the missions flown by the 461st, frequently with the actual poop sheets and bombing photos attached.

This should be an incredible resource for creating historically accurate mission scenarios, and as a bonus, it looks like I might get to fly escort for my grandfather's bomber one of these days. I'm sure this would tickle him to no end.

Here is the list of the 461st's missions.
