Ferrariman11 Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 I noticed that the speed indicator on the left hand side goes downwards. As you gain airspeed the indicator seems to descend as it projects an increase in speed. A bit odd, especially when comparing it to other HUDs. I know that FC3 is not supposed to be a 100% accurate representation of flight systems and I could be wrong so please correct me if so. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
GGTharos Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 The HuD is correct. Why that choice was made is another thing. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
whitehot Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 iirc it's a configurable parameter in the real plane, like most of the other elements of the hud. In the A-10C mod, which is DCS level, u get to actually manipulate that kind of features [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel i7 6700K @ 4.2, MSI M5 Z170A Gaming, NZXT X61 Kraken liquid cooler, PNY Nvidia GTX 1080 Founders Edition, 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3000 Mhz C15, samsung 840 evo SSD, CoolerMaster 1000W Gold rated PSU, NZXT Noctis 450 cabinet, Samsung S240SW 24' 1920x1200 LED panel, X-52 Pro Flight stick. Ferrariman11 Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 Thanks guys for the replies. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Kimi_uy Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I beleive it's meant to be like that. It's not only an airspeed indicator, by the movement of itself you can get a "feel" for the acceleration, and since the altitude tape goes up it could confuse the pilot if both tapes went up.
