SpeedStick Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Hiya. A friend just installed DCS for the first time and is trying to change the controls but when he tries to go to the control tab DCS CTDs. It's a FFB stick and we found only two posts on possible solutions. One is unplug and plug back in when in controls but it still crahses. The other post got deleted. Anybody had this problem? Thanks. Yurgon Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Sounds pretty nasty; I don't think I ever heard about such a problem. In any case, solution number one would be to try and repair DCS (All programs -> Eagle Dynamics -> DCS World -> Repair DCS). You said it's a new install, but are there any mods? If so, disable/uninstall all mods. Worth a try: Delete or rename the folder Saved Games\DCS World; it should be recreated the next time DCS starts. If all else fails, uninstall and reinstall DCS World, maybe even re-download it to make sure it's not a corrupted download issue. Not sure if any of this will work, but it's what I'd try.
SpeedStick Posted May 25, 2015 Author Posted May 25, 2015 Hey cheers for the reply. However we managed to find the solution. I don't have the URL to the fix but, for people having the same problem, apparently you need to remove the stick from the registry (regedit). Google the solution above and you should find it.
