EZ 42 Gunsight Adjustment Unit "Aiming Correction"

How is this adjustment useful?

 

How do I apply this using the guns and aiming reticule?

I did a search to this forum, using the query, "EZ 42" without quotes, and "Show Threads" selected; 13 thread topics resulted. I selected:

And Message #53, of this same thread, is the only practical test I fave found on the DCS forums (so far) explaining how to use the EZ 42 Gunsight Adjustment Unit in a combat setting. But I am missing the specifics how-to, exactly how this is done using the graph of numbers other than trial and error.

 

 

Now, I have found using the Fw-190's reticule sight to be really very effective killing a P-51 (human player, not AI) at about 200 meters, nicely placed in the circle, and about a ten round burst does quite nicely with an aft shot, but I did not pre-set the EZ 42 Gunsight Adjustment Unit, it was at its default setting.

If i understood the text correctly you have to set the numbers in the table to the altitude you currently flying. It doesn't make much of a difference as far as i know.

I think you'll have better results with the EZ42 as a fixed gunsight. There is not enough visibility over the nose for gyro compensation to be useful (like it is in the P-51), and the lack of a bore sight reference point is too great a cost.

Pure matter of preference.

Agreed. Love the fixed sights for deflection shots but the gyro for level or shallow dives on targets. Unfortunately I don't think the gyro adjustments are currently working or make any difference.
