ARK UD and R 828 Homing - How to set frequency manually?

Hi there,

 

Somebody knows if it's possible to set manually the frequency of FM Homing?

 

I found this presentation, but it shows how to use preset channels. In the same panel have a frequency input, but don't know how it works.

I tested using this mission to track a stolen vehicle using FM Homing at frequency 4900, UH-1H is ok, but Mi-8 don't works for me.

ARK 9 is working in Khz not Mhz and don't need preset in Mission Editor

you can use NDB/ VOR frequencies manually and the needle will show you the way.

 

you'll find all NDB vor and airport frequencie on that map :

is 4900 khz or Mhz ? ark 9 is limited to 1290 khz

 

tweak the mission for the stolen vehicle using AM Homing and not FM at frequency 1230 khz for example.

The presets can be changed in an LUA file but not ingame the 828 only has the preset channels

I know how to navigate using the ARK-9, my question if it's possible to use the R-828 like the AN/ARC-131 FM Radio Set of the UH-1H.

 

There are 4 input numbers for this FM radio, you need set frequency 49.00 MHz(KHz?) and set the mode to "HOME", the 2 needles shows the direction of the source.

I'm pretty sure that mission is broken. I've tried using it before and I couldn't get the homing working either.

 

I have gotten the ARK-9 and ARK-UD working before in my Snowbound mission.

 

I've never used the R-828.

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but which modulation should I use if I wanted to set up a standalone ARK-UD station - AM or FM?

 

EDIT: seems it's an FM system, but I'm not sure. Testing...

Thanks mate, got it sorted :thumbup: Uses AM for modulation actually. All set & running now!
