Lieckio Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 (edited) Hey there people! We got tired of poor IR Head trackers out there that caused more problems than solved and decided to kick out an IR Head Tracker of our own. From users to users, so to speak. This is the second version we've done, improved based on our customer feedback. That's all the gear that comes with the headtracker, allowing you to attach it to essentially any headphone out there. Website with more information is located at http://mansloth.com/ The design might look a bit industrial, but we've looked in to various options for cover, such as molded and 3D printed cases but they all proved to be just too costly for us to justify one. At least at the production numbers we have now, Finland is not the cheapest place to manufacture anything... The item does last use, one of our prototype testers had his function as a dogs playtoy for a full work day, but works just fine even after that... :) Anyways, what I am looking for is questions, ideas and opinions you guys might have. This is pretty much - in my opinion - the best head tracker out there. EDIT: By the way, we are currently discussing with a supplier in hopes of getting a PS3 eye cameras as a bundle with these for those who need them for an affordable price, together with the no-longer-free drivers for it. Lieckio Posted July 29, 2015 Author Posted July 29, 2015 Just bumping this a little as we updated our website today to look at least a little bit more modern. http://mansloth.com/
TomOnSteam Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 The bundle seems well priced, but 35euro seems quite expensive for the Clipsi alone. I'm guessing you are charging for your assembly time more than the cost of the parts. If that's the case would you consider selling the Clipsi just as parts for the user to assemble to get the price down to something like 15euros? I think you would sell a lot more that way. I also think there would be a market for a wired version if you could get it down to say 10 or so euro's, since the trackIR pro clip is way overpriced. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cockpit Spectator Mode

At first look I was thinking the same but if you compare it with delanclip price is the same but there is great difference this clip have build in rechargeable battery delan not. This is wireless clip so it is better then delanclip and the price is the same.
wormeaten Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Best option is Clipsi bundle. You got in bundle Clipsi + PS3Eye with removed IR filter and build in Light filter for 45€. It is 1/3 of TrackIR price with all functionality the same. So best option for those who like plug and play solutions.

wormeaten Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I would say the Delan clip is very overpriced as well. Just parts for this is is cost about 1/3 of the price so only way if you don't want to go with less is to do it your self like I do. I didn't buy any of this because I made my own. But this is good quality made and price is fair for small quantity production which require some additional costs so that why price is fair.

Sorry guys, had to spend the weekend in a military exercise so wasn't able to reply you guys until now. I can see where you are coming from with the pricing, but to be honest, we do need some profit on these. This is not our "main thing" - which is still in R&D - so we aren't taking that much profit out of these. We are doing small runs (less than 100), so the starting costs on the production take a big chunk out of the profit we get. Would love to make a 1000 on each run, but we don't have that much cash available for this project. I do think that the price is quite good, especially with the bundle, when compared to Delan Clip and especially when compared to Track IR. Obviously we would love to offer these for less, but at least currently are unable to do so. Hopefully the sales pick up at an incredible speed soon... :)
