Hi All,

I have an X52 throttle and stick and was wondering if there's a way I can use the pinkie switch and the slide on the throttle. I have absolutely no experience programming the stick. I have just come back from an extensive search of YouTube and saiteks own page and Im still as baffled as ever.

Whoever is nice enough to help. please imagine your explaining to a 3 yr old. Slow and precise. Many thanks in advance,

I use the saitek programming software to make the pinky a "shift" button. Then all the buttons have 2 functions. The slider has to be manually selected in whatever control you want it in DCS. So I use it as a zoom, so in the axis commands, I select slider0 (I think) as my zoom axis. It might be a different assignment and I can't check now, but the idea is the same.

I tried using the slider as an axis but it just didn't recognise it? As for the Saitek programming software, that requires Mensa skills,

If you think on the crazy behavior on the display after pressing the Pinki button there are driver and software version problem. First, to make Pinkie Switch work you must have the appropriate drivers. This is my experience on Win7. After i use driver 6.0.4.1 and software 6.6.6.9 my Saitek x52 work perfect and stable.

About Pinkie - You have one commnads on some button but if you press Pinkie you have one more command on that same button (in software you will find columns without pinkie and columns with the pinkie if you click on Views icon and select Grid view). That is Pinkie function, for all buttons.

About Precision Slide - I use it for Airbrake on/off. There you need "your Mensa" skill :) ... No, it is simple. Right click on Precision Slide field and select button option ''Band'', now make 5 bands (10%-20%, 20%-40, 40-60, 60-80 and 80%-100%), go in 20-40 band field and add AirbrakeON command here and AirbrakeOff command add in field 60-80.

This is an example how to use Slider for Airbrake but you can use it for other things and you must be precise what command you want so we can help you how to make that command. Many people use the X52 and you'll find help...

It's a little hard to explain all the capabilities of the software at once, use search and you will find many examples on this forum. When you understand how to program a more advanced command then will easy for you to create your profile.

Regards.
