SU 33 Refuelling

Hi All,

Im battling with a refuelling mission I have. The main probs I have is that none of the Auto pilot Altitude holds seem to work correctly? They all seem to make the AC move higher than the Il-78?

The Thrust hold seems to work well though. I can make contact but the thing wobbles all over and the probe comes out more often than not.

Do I have to target the refueller before approaching as well, as the HUD just makes no sense. The circle that floats around seems to not correspond with anywhere?

Ive seen loads of videos now, online and they all seem to be using an older version than the current one and things in that are different to this one.

This has got me perplexed. I hope someone can help,

In the past I have also discovered problems at air refuelling with different versions.

You can target the AC to get its TrueAirSpeed and to compare that with your own. Try the maneuver with no autopilot (yeah, its no good they don't work proper but you should do it manually), trim it perfect and try to do very small input changes. Do it slowly, take the time you need.

 

For me air refuelling is a very exhausting activity :D

The current version is no problem with refueling. :)

 

1. Don't use the autopilot during refueling (only manual operation throughout refueling).

2. Set up the curves on the pitch and roll axes (for linear joysticks - set ~27 for pitch and roll and ~34 for yaw).

3. Refueling requires very good skills in aerobatics (requires knowledge of the dynamics of the Su-33).
