Scoggs Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Haven't seen anything about this on here, so I figured I would point you guys to Squad. Looks pretty cool, made by the same guys who made Project Reality. So if you are looking for a tactical shooter, try taking a look at this! WildBillKelsoe Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 After takedown red saber, I'm really eerie about backing any project that bears the name "tactical" without sufficient pre-alpha releases. Plus, Arma is the best tactical infantry simulator out there. A true sandbox. I hope this project realises its potential at its conclusion. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
Scoggs Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 (edited) Yeah I am not very pro-kickstarter either. But I backed this one, call it wishful thinking :) As for Arma v. Squad, yes Arma is an amazing sandbox. But I don't think that is what they are aiming for. This seems to be more focused on tactical pvp. And on the brightside with squad it appears that there will be the added benefit of better framerate and decent shooting controls. Here's another video of pre-alpha. And since I backed the project I will update this thread with my impressions as someone who used to play a lot of Arma 2 ACE and Arma 3. WildBillKelsoe Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Not derailing your thread, but IMHO, Rainbow Six has been the first and best tactical anti-terrorist title I ever played. I'm waiting on the new one (Patriots got cancelled unfortunately). I love being the hero who goes in and kills all the bad guys and saves the hostages. Foul Ole Ron Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Project reality is a really fun MP experience. This looks like it'll be great. Definitely going to back this one. Can't go wrong with 50v50 online battles and they know how to make a game that rewards good teamwork and tactics.
