Dudikoff Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Yes I have, all of them. Fallout2 is still probably the best dystopian RPG ever made, Fo3 pales in comparison and New Vegas was a whole lot better in that regard. New Vegas managed to catch the atmosphere, humour and fun of the original games. Great quests in that one. IMHO, both Fallout 3 and NV would fall into your description of Fallout 4 (It feels empty, sandboxy, and completely misses the point of Fallout games.'). I would prefer if they'd go back to isometric view (e.g. like the recent Wasteland 2) or maybe if some other developer studio would get a chance (with a much better engine of course; IMHO character animations in the world were terrible in both F3 and NV). Doom 4 seems more fast action oriented than the last one (kind of reminds me of Doom 2). I'm probably in the minority here, but I liked the more in-depth and realistic approach of Doom 3.. i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg. Zakatak Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 (edited) I'm worried about the dialogue wheel, voiced protagonist, and a backstory that is significantly more predetermined than previous Fallout games (which doesn't work for sandbox RPG's). It really reduces our dialogue options and makes it harder to RP certain characters. Aside from that, Fallout 4 is looking fantastic and I can't wait to put hundreds of hours into it! I just hope Bethesda has upped their writing and voice acting, since FO3 paled compared to FNV in that regard. I'm also excited to die over and over again in Dark Souls III. The announcement had me worried it would become annualised like Assassin's Creed, but reports from gamers who saw the demo confirm it's been in the works for 4 years and that this is the last one, so thank god for that. And congrats to Sony for pulling off no less than 3 gaming miracles in 1 conference. The chances of Shenmue 3, The Last Guardian, and FF7 Remake being announced at the same time are lower than DCS World 2 and EDGE not being delayed. Edited June 20, 2015 by Zakatak
McBlemmen Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 (edited) Fallout 4 definitely blew everything else away at E3 , it looks simply amazing. The one thing that worries me is if they've simplified the skill system. I'm pretty sure skills are just gone (intelligence increases XP gained , not skill points earned per level) and perks (one of the most fun parts of the game) are also gone (since none were showcased at all, other then the crafting related ones)... during the weapon modding part you could see certain things "require science : 2" so i'm guessing every level you get to put ONE point into certain skills , a completely different system compared to F3 and FNV. I think there's no doubt that it's gonna feel completely different from previous games. Wheter or not that's a good thing remains to be seen. Battlefront looked disappointing as hell , but that didn't surprise me at all. Sea of Thieves got me really excited as a fan of old pirate sandbox games like Sea Dogs and Age of Pirates Edited June 20, 2015 by McBlemmen
