Boomer20 Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Hey guys After a very long dogfight with a Dora which led to the aircraft being riddled with bullets from nose to tail, wingtip to wingtip. It got me wondering. Does the AI aircraft have any damage modelling besides visuals? Or is it a bit of a life bar case like the ground units. It seems that no matter how damaged the enemy is they can still accelerate, turn and climb etc the exact same as a fresh non damaged aircraft.
Rangi Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Unfortunately you are correct. I'm sure it's on the to-do list, as it's pretty important for the WW2 combat. That to-do list is pretty long, so when damage modelling gets looked at is anyone's guess. PC: 6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.
panzerd18 Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 This is a real immersion killer for me. It almost seems broken that this is in the game. I don't understand that the systems are extremely well modeled but other things which are just as important are overlooked. You're only as strong as your weakest link I'm afraid.
Schnarre Aggro Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 the more folks come online the fewer AI is needed.... its not a solution for the damage model - hell no ! BUT ... it works very well as a workaround ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] There are two types of fighter pilots - those who have, and those who will execute a magnificent break turn towards a bug on the canopy . . . . http://www.youtube.com/user/schnarrsonvomdach http://www.twitch.tv/schnarre https://www.facebook.com/pages/Schnarre-Schnarrson/876084505743788?fref=ts

Besides: Remember that this is still a modern air combat flight sim first, where weapons crippel planes so fast that there not so much need for a high end dm is not as important as for ww2 combat. Oydoron Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 It'd involve teaching the AI to fly a damaged aircraft, which would probably be quite an undertaking.
