erjdriver Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 I've got Shkval skew assigned to the hotas control (behind the throttle SC). It's way too sensitive. What can I do...I assume I have to play around with the fine tuning. What values are suggested.
StrongHarm Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 I use an analog and a digital. Analog to slew quickly and digital to fine tune. Here's my profile: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=131418 It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
erjdriver Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 Never knew analog/digital - what are the key codes for the digital Skew commands. Even though I did my profile from the ground up - surprised how many are the same. Great minds...right? I see you have Abris buttons on a modifier - but how do you assign 5 buttons on that single-click button.
StrongHarm Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 You don't use key commands for the digital slew, just use the individual slew directions (not in axis view). For ABRIS OSD 1-5 I'm using the three throttle thumb switches. You can see 3 lines connecting the functions to the buttons. This profile works very well for me.. there are very few situations where I have to take my hands off throttle/stick. Took a long time to perfect it. ratkandy Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Suggested values in the Axis Tune menu: Deadzone 30; Saturation Y 15. (Saturation X leave at 100, Curvature 0.) Do that for both the horizontal and vertical axes. I haven't tested this in the shark, but it's the default way a warthog slew control is set up in the A-10C.
Rogue Trooper Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I use the warthog SC or mouse button for the search light... it is nice to play with sometimes. It is not as accurate as I would like but its ok for the search light. If you have Track IR then the HMS is all you need for large slew distances and then fine slew the shkval using the warthog trim hat for small/fine distances. If you do not have TrackIR then perhaps some free head tracking thingy might help but I have no experience with these. dok_rp Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 No matter what kind of setting I tried with the analog axis for the Shkval, TGP or Maverick, it always felt too sensitive or too unresponsive. I gave up and decided to learn how to use TARGET. With TARGET I assign the axis as buttons in the controller. Works wonders. :thumbup:
Rogue Trooper Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Been there dude and will refer you to my post just two above this post. HMS offers the speed and accuracy that you require my man. PiedDroit Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 I also had problems with the slew (the curve would never fit depending on the zoom level). So I use the slew keys instead: define CursorUp ';' define CursorDown '.' define CursorLeft ',' define CursorRight '/' KeyAxis(&Throttle, SCX, 0,AXMAP2(3,CursorLeft,0,CursorRight)); KeyAxis(&Throttle, SCY, 0,AXMAP2(3,CursorUp ,0,CursorDown ));
