Anton but your right can make a huge difference. You know, i use 8mm risers cut out on the laser, I think I am having to make the side concoles wider. Thick8 Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Dad used Turbocad. TurboCAD has gotten much better. I've been using it since version 5.0. I'm currently using version 15. I picked it up for $25 or so. The laser cutter at my school uses CorelDraw so I just save the TurboCAD file as a DXF, open it with Corel, and "print" it out on the laser. Have you downloaded Reactor1's panels? They can be easily modified to the correct size and hole placement. I started doing this but decided just to use his as they were and adjusting the rail width. Mike Powell Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I've also had good luck with TurboCAD. I started with it 12 years ago or so because it was an inexpensive tool for producing EPS files used in dead tree book publishing illustrations. It's since proven to be a useful 2D/3D modeling tool. Most recently I use it to produce DXF files feeding CAMBAM to make G code for CNC operations. Mike Powell www.mikesflightdeck.com www.mikesflightdeckbooks.com
weeb Posted July 22, 2015 Author Posted July 22, 2015 You know, I tried turbocad, my dad swears by it Mike and Thick8, I just could not get my head around it. Shoot me in the foot if you want. Its horses for courses here, I found it clunky. Here's a cracker, My dad, he's 85 by the way, we need to sell the penthouse and did you see the photos. I was like no, let me pull them up, saw them and was like your having a bubble. I'm pissin myself laughing and dad goes on one. Anyway he comes back and says have a swatch at that, I was gobsmacked, redid all the photos, correct angle and focus, so turbocad in the hands of an 85 year old rocks Windows 7 64 Home Premium, i5 3570K (3.4 @ 4.4GHz), Asus P8Z77-V LX, 16GB dual channel 1600 ram, EVGA Nvidia GTX980ti, 240 GB OCZ SSD, 3 TB Raptor, Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas and Throttle, Saitek Pro Combat Rudder pedals.
spaceraver Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 I use Rhino 3D for all my cad, at €800 for a full license, no one else can beat that price for the features it has.. And I'm glad that I fly the Shark mostly.. I don't have room for a full pit here.. Anything with a Rotary Wing is fun and challenging. Use SRS radio.
