StephenV Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Hi guys, I have bought and played several stand-alone DCS games prior to DCS World and they worked very nicely with my D-Box motion platform. However, I've been unable to get DCS World to work with it at all. I've contacted DCS tech support before, and the reply was that it should work. I've contacted the D-Box people, and they said that it used to work for them also, but they haven't tested it recently. They suggested it may be to do with 32bit vs 64bit. Anyway, long story short, the motion platform adds massively to the experience and I would love to get it working again. So, please help! :)
AtaliaA1 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 What did they mean by 32 64 bit? Their program is 32bit? This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. Until I got the tinker bug again i7 920 @3.6Mhz 12Gig Corsair XMS3 ram 1600 Nvidia 760 SLi w/4Gig DDR5 Ram Intel 310 SSD HDD 160 Gb + Western Digital 4Terabyte HDD Creative SB X-Fi HD Audio Logitech X-530 5.1 Surround Speaker System Dual Acer 32"Monitors. StephenV Posted July 22, 2015 Author Posted July 22, 2015 They meant back when they tested it, there was only a 32bit version of the DCS game.
StephenV Posted July 24, 2015 Author Posted July 24, 2015 Are there support staff from Eagle Dynamics monitoring this forum or do I need to submit such an issue as this by some other means?
J-1775 Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Unfortunately I can't help you, Stephen, but because I consider buying a motion platform and a D-Box is among my favourites, their support for DCS world (2) is a most important issue for me. I understand very well that once you have a motion platform it's not much fun anymore to fly without it :(. Since the D-Box isn't exactly an out-of-the-box solution, can you give some information on your gear, how many and what type of actuators you use? THX and good luck!
StephenV Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 My system is an older model (I've had it for around 7 years now). They have newer models with better actuators. Mine is a 3-actuator system, and it adds a lot to how immersive the experience is. Too bad it's not currently working an I'm not getting any response from these guys.
J-1775 Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 When I contacted them (sales) and told them that a working DCSW "motion code" is a sine qua non for me, they admitted current problems, but said they were in contact with Eagle Dynamics about that and promised me updates on that matter as soon as available. Anyways, I think we have to wait for the announced release of DCSW 1.5 with the EDGE next month, there can't be any sound (and satisfying) answers or solutions before v1.5. But I'm quite confident you'll get your platform working later this year ─ they simply can't ignore DCSW.
