Hi,

In the file "READ_ME_Leathernecks_MiG21.rtf" is stated the following about uninstalling the product:

"WARNING: Before uninstalling DCS MiG-21bis, make sure you deactivated your product"

I would like to uninstall my complete DCS installation, including MiG-21. In other products you can uninstall and install again and no deactivation is needed.

Is it needed, really, to deactivate MiG-21 before uninstalling, using up a deactivation?

Thanks.

All modules have deactivation. If you don't find in other modules' manuals such instruction is because it was omitted or they thought you want to uninstall and never reinstall.

Even if you don't deactivate you still have 10 activation in the pool and you will lose one. If you reach 0 activation left they are replenished one per month.

If you don't get new activations after reaching 0 then you email them and after you id yourself as the owner of the module you will receive a new activation most probably.

Thanks for your answer, I supposed all modules could be deactivated. My interest was if I can uninstall MiG-21 and install again with no deactivation/activation at all. I did that with other modules and it never ask me for reactivation.

I would like to do a clean install when DCS 2.0 be available.

What's is "Enable/Disable" checkbox for (in the above screen capture)?

Thanks again.

That is the activation button. I think it works in conjunction with protection system. You can let a module installed but deactivated so you will not see it in game as playable (you can see in my screenshot that stand alone planes that are also in FC3 are deactivated because I have FC3 activated). This deactivation procedure modifies I think a status in a lua file and also could deactivate the licence of that module.

If you uninstall and reinstall without any change to windows or hardware I guess most probably the protection system will not react and no activation will be lost.
