Hi All.

First, a brief history:

Plugged in the Warthog HOTAS Stick and Throttles. Booted up and went straight to configuring my P-51 and Sabre.

I did not stop at TARGET.

Both aircraft were flying beautifully.

I then went to the F-15. Assigned a lot of buttons and switches. Went to Instant Action just to take look at things All of the flight controls were ineffective.

Since I din't think I had to go to TARGET based on my experiences in the P-51 and the F-86 I decided to got to windows and calibrate the joystick.

Now in both the P-51 and the Sabre here is what I have:

Up Elevator = Aileron input roll right then roll left.

Down elevator= Aileron roll left. Ailerons remain stuck.

Aileron roll right = Up elevator

Aileron roll Left = Down elevator

I THINK THE WINDOWS JOYSTICK CALIBRATION IS THE CULPRIT.

I am going to unplug the joystick, reboot, shut down, plug in the joystick and reboot.

Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Man! This is frustrating.

Many thanks :joystick:

It sounds more like you somehow over wrote your controls or you have duplicate settings Ie: rudder and roll have the same axis. Try clearing all the controls under each device completely then start again with just the axis controls to test.

Good luck

BTW - I never use TARGET in DCS, program in game seems easier to me.

Thanks Sarge. I will try as you suggest. I re inserted my older CH Fghterstick and controls are all working properly. I agree about TARGET. In game is great with DCS. Best sim out there I think.

Sarge,

I proceeded as advised. Same results. To amplify the condition a bit, as soon as I give the slightest nudge on the joystick I get a full deflection. I put in a 5 deadzone. No change. I am beginning to think the joystick has an internal issue.

AS I said, the CH Fighterstick works fine.

Thanks.

Did you try to look at these tools from the thread I referred to?

There are two calibration tools from Thrustmaster:

Throttle calibration:

Joystick calibration:

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1084321&postcount=8

And here's the stick calibration tool that they sent me.

It seems to actually have worked. More testing needed, but I'm hopeful. It centers up now in the TARGET Device analyzer.

Let me know if you guys get any use from it.

Hey Mods, would you like to place these calibration tools as a sticky, since the only way to get them is contacting TM, and they're kind of a pain to deal with.

But maybe, as the first thing, try to remove all USB references to your Warthog and see if that helps.

It might, if your problem is that Windows calibration for your stick is screwed up:

I have used all of those too Peter. It's a good idea to have posted it here. thumbup.gif

I just used JoyID's along with AutoHotKey to bind my Warthog pinky lever to control TrackIR, short press is CENTER, long press is PAUSE TrackIR.

Here's another one. I found this on some forum in which the problem was a Cougar that would not work on a USB port (or more than one USB port). After using this program to delete all instances referring to "Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar", the Cougar could connect thru USB again!

USBDeview:

USBDeview is a small utility that lists all USB devices that currently connected to your computer, as well as all USB devices that you previously used.

For each USB device, extended information is displayed: Device name/description, device type, serial number (for mass storage devices), the date/time that device was added, VendorID, ProductID, and more...

USBDeview also allows you to uninstall USB devices that you previously used, disconnect USB devices that are currently connected to your computer, as well as to disable and enable USB devices.

You can also use USBDeview on a remote computer, as long as you login to that computer with admin user.

System specs:

Gigabyte Aorus Master, i7 9700K@std, GTX 1080TI OC, 32 GB 3000 MHz RAM, NVMe M.2 SSD, Oculus Quest VR (2x1600x1440)

Warthog HOTAS w/150mm extension, Slaw pedals, Gametrix Jetseat, TrackIR for monitor use
