Wayan Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Hi there Folks. As i recently started to build a panel prototype, i wanted to ask you all what LEDs you tried for backlighting? In somebody wants to laugh i try to put a picture here :) I know that the quality of the Labels is Bad, but that was the only white plastic i had lying around. In the back you can see a test ob yellow acrylic, there the labeling is much crisper. Hm, it's just a prototype :) Greetings and fly safe Wayan
bnepethomas Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Hi Lars I use 5mm wide angle flat-tops, they work a treat. Cheers Peter
Mr_Burns Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 How did you make it laser printer? Looks great from where Im sitting. Sorry no help on the LEDs, ive not got my head around that although I took one of my Cougar MFDs apart and they have the best tiny LED things. 1
Wayan Posted August 3, 2015 Author Posted August 3, 2015 No, not lasing. It's done with an 15 year old Roland PNC2300 engraver. On Acrylic it looks great, sharp, crispy... but i only had orange acrylic and some white plastic - the the paint got thorn out. Looking to get some opaque white acrylic and do the last prototype with led illumination. Thanks for the tip with the flat LEDs, will look for them. Greetings Wayan
