I wouldn't count that as a solution - it is just a temporary fix, because when you modify the file, the known bug arises, that the smokes stays indefinitely, when activated on ground with no speed and this bug exists since 2 years...

Hi Guys, after a long time i came back to my panels and wanted to continue a bit... but as i read that DCS-Bios is no longer active developed, my question is... how? I read about Flightpanels, but that too uses DCS-Bios... so can someone please gibe me a five sentence summary on how DCS-Bios is integrated now? This is a general DCS Error, maybe a Mod could move this thread, as it needs attention. Smoke is not possible on ground with any aitcraft or any map.

Same Prob here, repair did nothing, router restart/reconnect did nothing. I dont't see any server and I can't connect directly by IP -> Address unreachable

No not in that way - I just want all the ragers to think about what ea and beta means. This thinking has been lost long ago. And of course does ED want customers to buy EA, but that doesn't change what EA means and what can happen.

I am just telling, if you have doubts or tend to lose confidence in a project, then don't go for ea. If your know what ea could bring with it and accept it, e.g. a little delay, then go for it. I hope now you got my point. Because as it said: as a full release (e.g. for stable version) and not in beta, THEN you are right with your points. Yeah, and that is because of people have forgotten what these terms mean! ea/beta/full, YES it matters! one or two decades ago that couldn't happen, there was no early access, with what a dev makes money for letting you in a maybe broken or buggy game early. People tend to say "it MUST be this and that", no, it's early access you opt in for, live with the consequences that may result out of the DESIGN of early access. And yes, you are right, in MY opinion, people have no grounds to lose confidence about an early access product, because they KNEW what early access can bring with it, it is a damn delay, not a cancellation, nothing whatever. No, you missed my reference for EA and Beta. For a full product - you are right. You get a nearly 100% accurate release date for the SC on DCS Stable - there is the point where confidence and customers SHOULD get lost. I repeat, you opted in for early access and open beta! Greetings Wayan

No, you didn't, but cleaning it up for SP involves stripping parts off the Module, an preparing it for SP only, and the rage will be huge if that doesn't happen flawlessly. I am with you at the point that this was communicated in a bad way, but drom that you could go over to a point and say "go, play stable and avoid early access" When I started with computers, there was no such thing like early access, but it is a model that has prevailed ovr the last years.... sadly. When early access startet to show up, it was clear that this work WILL contain bugs, and WILL be missing a vast amount of features. Sadly, over the last years, early access evolved to be seen like "Its finished, give it to me, maybe it's missing small things" So just for MY(!) opinion, IF you go for early access - count on things will fail. I think people tend to forget what the terms early access and open beta are meaning. And if i buy something EA, i must consider my money is wasted, the devs loosing interest in the project or whatever happens. So, to close the circle - No, I cannot accept your point c) because that would, again, in my opinion, not apply to an early access product. I guess that will lead to another Open Beta and Early Access discussion. SC is released for open Beta, IF (I know nobody is doing) you would stay on the stable version, you would never drive into the problems occuring now. You could get your carrier when it is ready, you would get your plane when it is in a flyable state. I am sorry when i missed something, but where were customers blamed for missed deadlines? That i not a provocation - i really didn't see it. I am not blaming the new player coming to DCS and see what can happen here with EA and releases, yes I am a bit sad for them. No, it is this toxicity arising that i don't like, the mentality that some guys have. Get yourselves in EDs position, you want to release, you really want it. You discover Errors, work greatly overtime to iron them out, but realize that you can't do it in a few days, and then you decide to delay the release, because you know what is going to happen, and how your community will react when you release this current state. And this is what will happen when SC SP is going to released, this mentioned toxicity grows and ED will be blamed why they released it in an buggy state, if bugs are happening. As I already mentioned, I also didn't like that the delay was announced at release day. But I think that is way better than releasing it and not learning from F-16 and 2.5.6 Greetings Wayan

I think that is a nice portrayal of the actual corona crisis. I just couldn't stop shaking my head on reading some comments out here. I don't want to defend ED, as i think "yeah, they could have communicated that a little bit earlier...". But nevertheless, I can fully understand ED, as they don't wish to repeat the shitstorm arising on the release of the F-16. All you peole know what happend, and the this thread pictures that image of people i got over the last weeks. "IT'S MINE! GIVE IT TO ME! YOU CAN RELEASE SP? RELEASE IT!!!" "GIMME MY MONEY BACK! YOU FOOLS! ON OTHER PLACES YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED!" Are these the same people hoarding toilet paper? I can't tell... but you bought early access, you knew what you were going for, and i still remind you of the F-16 and 2.5.6 playability mess. Nobody forced you to buy it - you can wait until it is fully polished. No, you don't want to wait, you demand snipping of the MP part, do some absolutely unnecessary testing, just to satisfy your needs? Cause extra work for an EARLY ACCESS module? And IF ED is going to release the SP only part, I can tell you what will happen, something is not working, and you run for ED and yell "WHAT HAVE YOU RELEASED, THIS SH** IS NOT WORKING!?!?!" That depicts my built image of people in the last weeks, many of them are always and will ever only think of themselves... Yes, that annoncement could have come a bit earlier, but hey... it happened, the SC will be released, it was not cancelled... just wait a little more.
