Jacks Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Currently I use my Saitek throttle quadrant to control the undercarriage, parking brake and air brakes on most aircraft. Whenever any of the levers are pushed passed the zero point they register as a button. This works well for lowering the undercarriage as I can assign this extra button to an action and it acts like the real thing. The problem is that I have to then raise the lever and then press another button to activate the action of raising of the uncarriage. Is there anyway I can change how the buttons are assigned so that aircraft that require a button to raise and another button to lower the undercarriage can use a single button to perform these two actions just like the actions that use a press hold function like wheel brakes? I hope this makes sense. 98abaile Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Search the forums for how to assign toggle switches, should be a thread about assigning toggle switches to the warthog throttle. Basically if the zero position is acting as a switch then with a little easy .lua editing you should be able to assign functions to both the press and unpress actions.
Jacks Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 I am concerned that editing aircraft Luna files will mean that I will fail server integrity tests. jcbak Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 It would be nice to have a panel with a landing gear lever, switches for lights, etc. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]WIN 10, i7 10700, 32GB DDR4, RTX 2080 Super, Crucial 1TB SSD, Samsung EVO 850 500GB SSD, TM Warthog with 10cm extension, TIR5, MFG Crosswind Pedals, Wheelstand Pro, LG 40" 4K TV, Razer Black Widow Ultimate KB[/size]
Sokol1_br Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 You use this lever only for control langing gear or for this and other axis functions? A way to get diferente behaviour of this lever buttons without edit LUA files or use a modifier (that is required be press together with the button) is assign a "switch" - in DCS controls - for the landing up button. Assuming this lever button as button 20 button 20 = landing gear down button 20 + switch = landing gear UP Different to modifier, the "switch" dont need be pressed together with the button, just need be on. E.g. Assign Caps Lock as "switch", before take off press Caps Lock (swtich on), take off and the lever wil raise the LG, after press the Caps Lock again (switch off), and when landing the lever lower the LG. Other is use a keymapper with sequencial ability (Xpadder, Joytokey), that allow press, in sequence: e.g. G, Alt+G, G, Alt+G... The issue with sequencial commands is that eventually you end with the things inverted. :)
Jacks Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 No I don't generally use the axis for anything apart from on the mi-8 where one lever is for collective and if you move down and then past the stop it operates the wheel brakes. I am reluctant to use modifiers or switches. I am trying to get it so on the mig-21, SU-25T, A-10C and F-15, when one of the levers is move all the way down (so the button is pressed) the gear goes down and stays down. Then when the lever is moved up (so the button is released) the gear retracts. Sokol1_br Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 (edited) If you dont use the lever as axis, you can use the Saitek Software  and divide the lever axis in 3 bands (example). For each band assign the key (or combo) for some LG functions: Up, Neutral, Down. In this way you have a more properly operation of the lever and a visual feedback (if Up, Neutral, Down) based on lever position. Or you are creating a virtual ON-OFF-ON switch with this lever axis. Same for flaps, etc. Other software option that maybe work, SVMapper. Assign for this lever button in "Mapped key on press" = the key (or combo) for LG down and in "Mapped key on release" = the key (or combo) for LG up. See button 21 in this picture: http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/4357/svmapperku7.jpg Lever down: button pressed, LG down. Lever up (can be all up): button released, LG up. BTW - In Mig-21 is need put the LG in neutral after raise, what create another problem... :) Edited August 13, 2015 by Sokol1_br
