FeistyLemur Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Well you might say I jumped head first into the deep end. I saw a video of Mig 21 bis and I had to try it. Not being one who believes in arcade flight games, I decided to go with full simulation mode Mig 21 Bis as my introduction to DCS, and I love it. So much so the hotas warthog is on it's way. The feeling of successfully landing this thing with a smooth touchdown after many failures is very satisfying. Many years past as I used to play the ancient simulators like Janes F-18, Fleet Defender, and F15 strike eagle 3, I remember always looking down on the Mig 21 as an ugly and laughable plane in relation to the modern fighters, because of the way it was portrayed as a turkey shoot plane in those sims. Not knowing the history and capabilities of the plane within it's era. But with a fascination for Soviet era military hardware I really enjoy the learning experience and historical value of a sim like this. Now it's one of my favorite planes. Even though I've been very cruel to it in flight training. I think I would be posted somewhere in Siberia at a nuclear waste facility at this point.
