SnowTiger Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 My father was a private pilot who owned his own Cessna 172. Unfortunately he passed away in 2010. I now have all his flight gear including his "SoftComm C-40 Pro-Am Stereo Headset". As normal, this headset comes with Stereo Jacks (like the 1/4" jacks used for an Electric Guitar or your old stereo headphones). As noted at the above-provided URL, the headset comes with PJ-068 and PJ-055B stereo plugs (jacks). "IF POSSIBLE", I would love to increase my Sim experience reality just a wee bit using these. SO ....>>>>>> I was wondering if anyone else has and uses this type of headset/headphone and mic setup with DCS ? If so, what type of Adapter do I need to change this to USB connector ? maikchaos Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) USB-Headsets have the (USB)Chip integrated in the headset, so the "Adapter" u mean is something like this a cheap USB-Soundcard. IMHO for teamspeak it's ok but for ingame sound... maybee not really good. Just test it  Maik Edited August 27, 2015 by maikchaos
Lobinjaevel Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I can recommend this company: https://www.flightsounds.com/ Fantastic customer service and awesome quality products, you definitely get what you pay for. I have the FSX-M for my HGU 55 and it's great. Send them an email if your not sure which model you need.
SnowTiger Posted August 27, 2015 Author Posted August 27, 2015 Thank you both for your replies and accompanying URL's. maikchaos >> Your link is exactly the idea I am thinking about. I never thought it would be that easy. Lobinjaevel >> The link/product you provided is even more specifically what I need and am looking for. Though I am a bit surprised of the cost for this solution, I will definitely be checking this companies products out closely. Thanks again to both. PS> Do either of you use Avionic Headsets ? Does anyone suggest I should stick with my current run-of-the-mill headset/mic because of sound quality or anything like that ? maikchaos Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) Looks like lobinjaevel using a avionic headset. I just had a idea to your question. ;) Give him a chance maybe, if the solution with avionic headset+USB soundcard is'nt working to your satisfaction u can send it back, (here in germany, don't know the rules for cashback in canada) Personally I have a Logitech G35 Gaming headset.
