DarkFire Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I'm not sure if this would be possible as it might be seen as making commercial use of freely available data, but it would be awesome if the editor had the ability to download and use accurate real-time weather data for the mission area in question. I don't necessarily mean fully dynamic simulated weather systems but the basic data such as temperature, possibly dynamic pressure areas, wind speed and precipitation. This could add a nice extra bit of realism to flying missions. System Spec: Cooler Master Cosmos C700P Black Edition case. | AMD 5950X CPU | MSI RTX-3090 GPU | 32GB HyperX Predator PC4000 RAM | | TM Warthog stick & throttle | TrackIR 5 | Samsung 980 Pro NVMe 4 SSD 1TB (boot) | Samsung 870 QVO SSD 4TB (games) | Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. archer86 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) +1 Dcs deserves that one. if it is possible, dynamic simulated weather systems would be awesome too:) Edited September 8, 2015 by archer86
WelshZeCorgi Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 +1 Dcs deserves that one. if it is possible, dynamic simulated weather systems would be awesome too:) +1 It always felt weird to me when 100% of the time, the entire map would be in one determined, unchanging weather state or another.
OnlyforDCS Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Its not real world weather but: AFAIK dynamic weather is already in the game. At least it should be available for mission builders in the editor. Since Im not fond of playing around in the editor that much I haven't explored this a whole lot, but apparently it is possible to create a mission with changing, dynamic weather. (Cold fronts, etc.) Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.
theropod Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 +1 for your every words . opposite wind effects ,dynamic visibility more improved turbulances..etc yes, dcs default weather is good but nearly same conditions which effects on aircraft. that is a must have feature for Dcs World.

Weather effects, specially wind and turbulence, are bland in DCS. No wind variability, and turbulence when set even to max values is minimal...
